What are Beard Moustache Transplants?

Beard and Moustache Hair Transplant procedures have become increasingly in demand in recent years, due to the ease and guaranteed outcomes of the process. This is performed similarly to regular (head) hair transplant procedures, with the main difference being in the number of extracted follicles (determining the desired density) and the area of transplantation and is aimed at helping men with sparse facial hair, low growth and density in their beard and moustache areas.

Overview

of the Procedure

  • The doctor will determine the number of needed hair follicles to be transplanted based on the patient’s bare area and density of existing hair there.
  • The appropriate type of hair follicle is therefore determined and extracted from the back of the patient’s head, in order to utilise them in covering the desired transplant area, using the DHI technology.
  • The follicles are then planted in the target area whilst being mindful of the hair angle, setting its depth and direction aptly to achieve the most natural look possible.
  • The duration of the transplant procedure will vary on an individual basis, depending on a number of factors, most importantly the size of the beard and of the transplant area. On average, this will take between 2-4 hours.

Anesthesia:

In minimally invasive surgeries such as beard or moustache transplants, only local anesthesia is needed and applied by injecting a numbing needle in both the donor and transplant areas (back of head and face, respectively).

Duration of Stay:

The patient must remain in Istanbul after the surgery for a period of three days for all transplant operations.

Post-Op:

Beard and Moustache Transplant results will often begin to appear 2-3 months following the procedure, with the density gradually increasing afterwards with the passage of time.

Eyebrow Transplant

What is an Eyebrow Transplant?

The Eyebrow Transplant or Eyebrow Thickening procedure is one of the simplest cosmetic procedures to densify brow hair by implanting new follicles in the target area, particularly helpful to women with low eyebrow hair growth. This is a recent procedure which has seen great popularity in such a short time thanks to the major technological progress of brow transplant equipment.

Hair Transplantation

Overview of the Operation

  • An Eyebrow Transplant is performed similarly to Hair and Beard Transplant procedures, extracting hair follicles from the donor area (located in the back of the patient’s head) to be implanted in the brow area to achieve the desired look or densify brow hair.
  • Follicle positioning in the transplanted area is determined with great precision due to area sensitivity whilst being mindful of the appropriate hair direction in order to ensure a healthy growth pattern, one that is consistent with existing hair.
  • The Eyebrow Transplant procedure takes anywhere between 2-5 hours at most, based on the number of hair follicles to be transplanted.

Post-Op:

  • The patient may resume normal activities a few days following the transplant procedure.
  • The patient may feel some puffiness and swelling on the brow area after the procedure. Nonetheless, these symptoms are a normal occurrence that usually dissipates in a week’s time.

Your case will be monitored by the medical follow-up department on a monthly basis following the operation for a full year to ensure adherence to instructions for the best results.
