Face, Neck, and Eye Lift

Surgical Face Lift:

Surgical Face Lifts are performed under general anesthesia.
The operation consists of simply making an incision by the patient’s ears and alongside the hairline, extending behind the ears as well. The plastic surgeon will then pull the skin gently and lift it upwards and backwards together with facial muscles and fats and snip off excess skin folds. Incisions are sewn afterwards with special medical stitches that naturally dissolve in 6 weeks’ time.

Thread Lift:

Thread Lifts are performed under local anesthesia.
This type of Face Lifts is not recommended for advanced cases of sagginess or deep wrinkles, only for early cases and fine lines. In a Thread Lift, the doctor will pull the pinned facial threads in various directions until an appropriate aesthetic and the desired extent of tightness have been achieved. Thread ends are then tied at the upper forehead and lower hairline to conceal any operative marks or scarring. This is repeated until all target areas have been covered, in addition to the doctor lightly massaging the face to ensure integration of the threads and facial tissues. The type of threads used for this procedure is called a “Spring Thread”.

What is a
Face Lift?

A Face Lift -also known as Rhytidectomy- is a cosmetic surgical procedure aimed at correcting sagginess of facial skin and concealing wrinkles caused by ageing, whereby skin elasticity is gradually lost, and the lipid barrier begins to thin out in certain areas of the face. This procedure is considered one of the most sought out operations by women and men in order to counteract wrinkles as expected effects of ageing. There are two types of Face Lift procedures, a Surgical Face Lift and a (non-surgical) Thread Lift that is minimally invasive.

Post-Surgical Face Lift

Special bandages are applied to the face following the surgery. In addition, a tubal instrument might be placed by the incision area for a period of 1-2 days post-op in order to drain any leaking blood or fluids. Results can often be observed as soon as swelling is completely gone from the surgically lifted area. It could take a few months post-op to feel the full adaptation of the skin to the new and toned appearance.

Post-Thread Lift

After this procedure, some bruising and swelling will be visible for a period of 2-3 weeks. Some individuals will experience a shorter recovery time than others. Final results can be seen once swelling has completely disappeared.

What is a
Neck Lift?

Many individuals will experience skin sagginess in the neck area as a sign of ageing, weight loss, or other genetic factors. A Neck Lift is one of the most popular procedures nowadays, being particularly in demand by women desiring a perfectly shapely neck and a more youthful look. Neck Lifts or “Neck Sculpts” as they can be called, are aimed at getting rid of neck wrinkles, sagginess, and excess skin in the area, as well as correcting and refining the space below the chin through the pulling and lifting of neck skin and subcutaneous tissue.

  • Anesthesia:

All Neck Lifting surgeries are performed under general anesthesia.

  • Duration of Stay:

Both Face and Neck Lifts require a 10-day stay in Istanbul, with 1 overnight stay at the hospital. Face and Neck Lifting procedures are generally quick and simple, taking around 2 hours only.

Overview of the Procedure

  • At the consultation, the cosmetic surgeon will seek to gain a thorough understanding of the case, assessing the skin type and the amount of underlying fatty tissues in order to determine the most suitable course of action for the patient.
  • Prior to performing a Neck Lift surgery, all necessary testing is conducted, and target areas (areas of sagginess) are examined.
  • The positioning of the surgical incision (surgical incision strategy) will vary according to the different natures of double chins. For example, if the double chin had resulted from age-related skin sagginess and muscle weakness, the incision would be made behind the patient’s ears, where the surgeon will perform a Liposuction, snip excess skin, and pull the skin upwards and backwards to finally close up. However, if the double chin had been an effect of weight gain or fat concentration in the area below the chin, then the incision would be made below the jawline in accordance with natural skin lines/facial shape?, to be similarly followed by Liposuction and disposal of excess tissue, and the subsequent upward stitching and bandaging of the skin.
  • The surgeon might resort to Liposuction in case any excess underlying fats are found in the target area.

Post-Op Information:

  • Following the surgery, we -at Royal Shape- would ensure to keep the patient under close medical observation for 24 hours to confirm that they are in a stable condition.
  • The patient might notice some mild swelling in the affected area. However, this effect is perfectly normal and usually dissipates within 2 weeks.
  • Final results of a Neck Lift can be seen in a few months’ time after the operation.
  • The patient is required to keep the area bandaged for a period of 10 days after a Neck Lift.

Overview of the Procedure

The Surgical Eye Lift is divided into two parts: upper and lower eyelid surgery.

  • The Upper Eyelid Lift can be performed under either local or general anesthesia, while the Lower Eyelid Lift certainly requires general anesthesia. The main aim of this procedure is removing excess saggy skin to achieve more toned and lively eyelids, keeping in mind that surgical incisions are sewn in a professional and completely invisible manner, without any operative marks or scarring. Of course, Upper and Lower Eyelid Lifts can be performed simultaneously.
  • The patient is able to resume normal activities immediately after the surgery, once a follow-up has been scheduled with the surgeon at some point in time to check up on the incision and healing process.

Duration of Stay:
Eye Lifting procedures require a 6-day stay in Istanbul.

What is a
Eye Lift?

An Eye Lift -also known as blepharoplasty or Eyelid reshaping- is a cosmetic procedure aimed at correcting droopy, saggy, or hooded eyelids, which is primarily caused by ageing factors whereby skin elasticity is gradually decreased due to deceleration of collagen production in the body with the natural ageing process. In some cases, eyelid droopiness is not only a result of the ageing process but can also be caused by a genetic condition. Those with naturally/genetically hooded eyes may feel discomfort and difficulties in vision due to their condition and would therefore look to rectify the issue with an Eye Lift. This procedure can be surgical or non-surgical, where we offer numerous minimally invasive procedures such as Fillers or Plasma Injections to tighten and lift the eyelid area.
